I was listening to the Mark Kennedy (my favorite Carpet Cleaning marketing guru) and he said that they did some focus group studies asking women what their biggest concern was when hiring any kind of service person to come to their house. It wasn’t price, nice advertising, method, certification, insurance, licensing, process or customer service. It was “What kind of person is coming into my house?”
No one wants to call a logo. Business is about people and interactions. Don’t be afraid to show you are human, it will make you more approachable to your potential customers.
They want to feel comfortable knowing that a friendly professional person is coming over. I think you should put a nice picture or video of you on the home page, just a nice smiling face. I bet you will be surprised at the response. I know the personalized video on my site converts tons of customers, they tell me so. Worth a try!

I agree Joe, I have my picture on the front of my business card and get great responses from it. It will be on our new website also. Thank you
It seems like these days it is who is coming to their house and the price. I have a picture posted up of me and my family and some videos of me and my crew cleaning houses i.e. tile and carpet. I think once you break the ice and show or prove to people you are a decent person with their best interest at hand they relax a bit. I have been toying with the idea of posting on my website that all crew/employees are background checked for both criminal and sexual offenses. I am afraid that if i do this that it might bring the image of my company up or down a great deal so that is why i have not done it. I do express this over the phone to people when i speak with them.
thank you sow much lol
I think the personal approach is always best when it comes to any in home service. My smiling face is on every page of my website along with my story. When people call they already feel like they know me, which makes it easier when setting appointments. Stay away from the corporate look and feel and be more personal and you will see a huge difference in your marketing response. Thanks, Tom
I think i am going to post a picture of me and my family up on my website
Great information. Just what I was looking for in creating my site.
