Welcome to Part 4 of my ongoing video series that teaches carpet cleaners how to rank their websites using SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
In this part we learn how to easily get backlinks to our website by adding a signature to Internet Forums.
In the last section we learned how to get backlinks by commenting on blogs. It’s good to have links coming from different kinds of websites. Forums should definitely be in the mix because they provide powerful links if done correctly.
The 2 important forums for carpet cleaners are:
http://www.truckmountforums.com/
http://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/
You have probably been to these forums to discuss various topics. Have you ever noticed how some guys put links at the bottom of every comment? These are called signatures and each time a comment is made a link goes to their website. These links can be very effective but MUST contain keywords NOT company names and NOT website URLs.
In each forum you will need to find the area that allows you to edit your signature. In the signature box you will need copy and paste this simple code:
[URL=http://www.Mysite.com]My Keywords[/URL]
Of course you will to replace “mysite.com” with your website URL and “My Keywords” with the specific keywords you are tying to target.
Now every time you make a comment you will get a backlink to your site so get on the boards and make comments, ask questions and participate a few times per week. It will pay off.
Don’t stop there. You can register for any kind of forum and do the same thing. Some forums don’t allow links in the signature or require that you make a certain amount of comments before setting up a signature.
Just like with blog commenting, don’t spam, participate!

I would like to know a company that another carpet cleaner has used to do SEO for them. I would probably prefer a non USA company because their prices are usually better and from my experience they work harder.
